The destinations were fabulous, the wait staff and room attendants were excellent and we were happy with our cabin. That's where the happiness ends. Not that the ship was bad, but it was showing its age having last been refurbished 10 years ago. There was a lack of varied dining offerings and the food in the main eateries was consistently mediocre. Guest Services frequently gave out incorrect ...
There were few highlights for this cruise. The food was barely edible, the entertainment lackluster, and other passengers rude and belligerent. Although clearly dated, the ship was clean and the service exemplary. We sailed in a standard balcony stateroom which was nothing above ordinary and as expected the shower postage stamp sized.
To review the food in greater detail. The first night I ...
Outside of the cabin Stewart, the service is atrocious. Clearly the captain of this ship does not prioritize passengers, customer service or cleanliness. From being seated at dirty tables in the dining room to food being of such poor quality that we were concerned about it being safe to eat. If you find yourself on a holland America ship, do yourself a favor and skip the dining room altogether ...
By 15:00 our cabin(deck 12) was still not cleaned on arrival, I had to request 4 times(dial 99 for Reception) to split the beds to 2 single beds. I have found a lost earing in the bathroom from the previous guests, dirty hand markes on the shower walls and mirrors. Bath towels had to be requested several times. No swimming towels was in the room, I had to ask several times for that too from ...
Very good food and excellent service. Although I have seen numerous reviews of poor food on Royal Caribbean this is something that I have never experienced. Windjammer buffet food was good and food in the main dining room was very good. Selections vary by the day but some menu items are repeated for dinner. Service in the main dining room was outstanding. And the Windjammer staff was always ...
Advice for first time Cruisers (like me). I am currently on Mariner, we go into Cozumel in a couple hours. Since this was our first time and I'm learning as I go, I thought I'd share some of the things I wish I had known before the cruise:
Our Stateroom is in the Aft just a couple rooms from the back of the ship. The walk to the elevators with a bum left knee and my husband having severe RA ...
I am Diamond status on RC. I have also cruised on many other cruise lines including luxury lines. I absolutely loved this ship! I was amazed how clean it was and how well kept. The carpets were in perfect condition as well as the furniture. The staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly.
The entertainment was wonderful. I thought the RC dancers and orchestra did a fabulous job. I also ...
If I could give zero stars, I would. This was the most boring cruise I’ve ever taken. There were hardly any onboard activities. The bars do not open late, and the latest one closes before 11 PM (even during weekends). By that time, even guest services are closed. If you want something to drink, even just water, around midnight, you have to order room service. They cancel port stops with little ...
My fiance and I took our first cruise. We are in our mid 30's. A lot of the passengers were older but we didn't have a problem with that.
However, we had some creepy experiences with our room attendent walking in on us several times. He claimed that he knocked and then claimed that he couldn't hear us shouting at him not to enter. I was like ummm bro so why did you knock. Makes no sense. I ...
We had some great moments on our Royal Caribbean cruise, but a few things really fell short. The bar staff stood out—they were consistently friendly and made excellent cocktails. Our cabin steward and housekeeping team also did a fantastic job keeping our room spotless throughout the trip.
Unfortunately, the dining experience was a letdown. The service in the main dining room dragged on, and ...
